Mersea Island Lions “Round the Island All Terrain Running Race”. Distance is approximately 13 miles, Multi-terrain.

Venue:- Willoughby Avenue/The Esplanade Car Park, West Mersea , CO5 8BH, near Colchester, Essex. See Directions option in Main Menu for details of how to get here.

Date and Time: – Sunday 25th June 2017 start time 10.00a.m (Please note earlier start time due to tide times.)

Course Details: – Approximately 13 miles, multi-terrain following the sea wall, beach and very short stretches on-road, all on the flat. The course runs completely round the Island in a clockwise direction. It is recommended that you wear a good strong pair of trainers, racing flats are definitely unsuitable. Drink stations: – There will be 5, manned, drink stations around the course.

Male: 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 1st Veteran (60+), 1st Male Team (3 to score), 1st Male under 20
Female: 1st 2nd 3rd and 1st Veteran (60+), 1st Female Team (3 to score), 1st Female under 20.

Number of runners :- 252 runners in 2016. A good mix of runners – club, unattached, inexperienced and new.

Winning time 2016:- 1st male: 1 hour 24:38 mins 1st female: 1 hour 44:18 mins

Entry fees:

£13.00 on-line (Latest on-line entry Sunday 18/06/2017 12 noon) or race day entry £15 (Race day entries close at 9:15am)
Minimum age for entry:- 15 years on race day (runners between 15 and 17 need to be accompanied by a suitable adult runner). All proceeds will be donated to selected Mersea Island Lions Charities.

Race numbers will be given out on the day at race registration
