Races update 12th January 2022

Because of problems related to the Covid situation and other organisational problems it has been decided with regret that the proposed 5 & 10 Mile Running Races which were due to take place on Sunday 29th May 2022 will not now take place.

Our other event however, the Round The Island All Terrain Running Race will still take place as planned on Sunday 18th September 2022 (unless there are significant and unforeseen circumstances which prevent us from doing so). Full details of this event have already been posted on the race information page.

Changes to Transfers/Cancellations

Due to the limited resources we have on the run up to races in terms of volunteer time, we are changing some of the ways we handle Transfers and Cancellations to help reduce admin time needed by volunteers.

Cancellations

Nothing will change before the online registration closes.
You can still cancel your entry and receive a full refund.

  • Change – After online entries close, if you choose to cancel your entry you will receive a refund minus a £5 “admin” fee.
So you will receive £10 refunded.

    • This change is to encourage more entrants to attend the event.
    • With less cancellations the load will be lightened for the volunteers processing them.
    • Will make up for transaction processing fees.
    • The “admin” fee will also apply to any refund requests on the day where the entries were made online.
    • The £5 “admin” fee will still be put to the clubs charitable causes.

Transfers

Nothing will change before the online registration closes.
You can still request a transfer and have it processed.

  • Change – After online entries close, you will no longer be able to transfer your entry.
    • Your request will be processed as a cancellation and the above cancellation changes will be applied.
    • You will receive a refund minus a £5 “admin” fee.
So you will receive £10 refunded.
    • The runner that you wanted to transfer your entry to will still be able to enter on the day. (Up until places run out)
