Round The Island All-Terrain Running Race

Venue: Willoughby Avenue/The Esplanade Car Park, West Mersea, CO5 8BH (See Directions option in Main Menu for details of how to get here.) This is the traditional start and finish point for this race, with virtually unlimited car parking spaces.
Date and Time: Sunday 18th September 2022, 10.30am start.
Course Details: Approximately 13.4 miles, multi-terrain following the sea wall, beach and very short stretches on-road, all on the flat. (Click here for pdf version of course map.)
Course changes: There are likely to be some course changes in the Cudmore Grove area of the course this year due to coastal erosion in this area. These are still to be assessed but details will be given here and included in the runners schedule prior to the race day.
NOTICE: Photographs will be taken of runners at this event. If any one does not want their photograph taken or would like it destroyed please inform the race organiser.
Drink Stations: There are 5 drink stations around the course and one at the finish. (If it is a hot day it is also advisable to carry your own drinks bottle).
ALL FINISHERS TO RECEIVE MEDALS
Trophies awarded to:
Male: 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 1st Veteran (60+), 1st Male under 20
Female: 1st 2nd 3rd and 1st Veteran (60+), 1st Female under 20.
Mixed Teams: 1st, 2nd, 3rd
Both races: £15.00 online (Latest on-line entry midnight Saturday 12th September) or race day entry from 8.00 am – 9.45 am.
Minimum age for entry: 10 miles – 17 years, 5 miles – 15 years
(Runners between 15 and 17 must be accompanied by a suitable adult runner)
Race numbers will be given out on the day at race registration
Please note: Your race time will start when you cross the blue timing mat at the starting line and finish when you have crossed the mat at the finish. You must PASS OVER the mat at the finish in order for your time to be recorded.
Proceeds: Will be donated to several Mersea Island Lions Charities.
