Hooray. Mersea Island Lions Club have organised a Virtual All Terrain Half Marathon Running Race. This will be on the 26th and 27th June 2021.  The cost to enter is £15.00  Thank you. Further details  on our website.

FOR THOSE OF YOU TAKING PART THE PARKING ARRANGEMENTS ARE FROM 7AM  ONWARDS FOR THE RUNNERS AND THERE SUPPORT PEOPLE AT WILLOUGHBY CAR PARK, WILLOUGHBY AVENUE, JUST OF VICTORIA ESPLANADE. PARKING IS FREE UNTIL 2pm WHEN CHARGES WILL APPLY.

REGISTRATION IS FROM 8am TO 9.15am

HI ALL RUNNERS FOR THE 5 AND 10 MILE ROAD RUNNING RACE. THE ON LINE REGISTRATION FOR THIS RACE HAS NOW CLOSED BUT YOU CAN OF COURSE REGISTER ON THE DAY, SUNDAY 26TH AUGUST 2018, BUT IT IS £20.00 ON THE DAY.

Mersea Island Lions would like to thank all the Runners, Marshalls and Public support received in the lead up and on the day of the Round The Island All Terrain Race. Without all of you this race would not be the great success it has become, not just here, but all over the United Kingdom and some runners from abroad. Thank you very very much and hope to see you and have the support in the future.

THE ONLINE REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED BUT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO REGISTER ON THE DAY FROM 8.30AM ONWARDS AT £20.00 PER ENTRANT. THERE ARE ONLY 80 PLACES LEFT.

Please do not get confused with the Island Races Triathlon Race which is the day before the Lions Running Race. This is a different event. 

The Round the Island All Terrain Running Race on 24th June 2018 is on track with 132 runners already entered. Remember that if you book on line it is £15.00 but if you wait to book on the day it will be £20.00  SO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF SAVING £5.00 AND BOOK IN EARLY. CLOSING DATE FOR ON LINE BOOKING IS 15TH JUNE 2018

Hi Every one. Just letting you all know that the Round the Island All Terrain Running Race and the Five and Ten Mile Road Races site can now be used to register your entries. If you register on line its £15.00 per entry BUT if you leave it until the day it is £20.00 per entry.  So register now and save £5.00 on entry fees

This was attended by over 350 runners from all over the South and East of the Counties. The day was very hot which caused the runners a lot of difficulty this year. However they seemed to have enjoyed it. We the Lions would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who took part and hope to see you again next year 26th August 2018. We would also wish to thank all the Marshal’s  and water station people , who did a wonderful job in directing and keeping the runners safe and watered. The money raised will be used to benifit charities and local causes. Thank You all once again.
